A Break

Do you ever have days where something happens and, compounded with all the other things that have been happening, you feel cursed instead of blessed? I did...yesterday. My hiking buddy informed me that she is no longer able to go to Yosemite with me due to employment changes. Not a big deal. Life happens. The mountains aren't going anywhere...and neither am I.

She suggested I ask someone else to do the Sunrise Lake Trail with me, but I don't know anyone else who would want to go or who would willingly abandon their husband/children to take off with me for a week. This has been an awful past 9 days.

So I am declaring a vacation! If I stay home then the probability that someone doesn't see me, stands me up, or ignores me becomes zero. I'm going to "lean on [my] sword and rest awhile"* so I can get up, eventually, and continue on. Today I'm just too tired to do anything but curl into the fetal position with a good book.
