A Funny

My sister is famous for saying things that make you go, "What?!" and then laugh until your whole body hurts. We call them "Melanie-isms."

Two of her most famous ones are:

  • "What's the difference between thick and thin, besides the thick and thin?"

  • "That cemetery looks like a graveyard."

Tonight, when I got home from work, the following had been posted on Facebook by my sister.

"Me (my sister) acting silly in the car*
Mom: "We forgot to buy you entertainment."
Sister: "At least I'm not having a Melanie-ism and saying that those hills over there look like Hobbit homes."
Brother #4: "But you were thinking it."

Makes me laugh every time I read it. I can hear Mom's exasperated tone and my brother saying that in his dry, sarcastic way. It just makes me laugh harder because if she said it she WAS totally thinking it and had probably been thinking it for a long time. HAHahahahahHAHAHA!!!

*They were driving home from Lake Powell in Utah. My sister doesn't handle car trips well; she gets antsy.

  1. I want to see a hill that looks like a hobbit home!

  2. I've never met her, but I watched the scene in my mind pretending it was a sitcom...and it made me giggle. I just mentally watched it with my Modern Family faves--love it.
