Inspiration or Insanity

I have had several people in the past few years tell me I should write a book. The last person to do this was last Wednesday in an interview with my ecclesiastical leader. I would like all to notice the irony of telling him my weekly schedule and that I have a difficult time sleeping and his suggestion is to write a book in my spare time. What spare time??

Unfortunately for me, the brain is now kicking around a new idea that may take precedence over my fake Art History thesis/fictional novel on a Manet painting and a chance meeting in a museum gallery. Now the whole idea of writing something based on the Book of Ruth in the Old Testament is taking up precious neurological space. I might need to get it written just to free some space on the hard drive that sits under the cranial sphere.

All I wanted was a calling, an opportunity to serve and feel not useless! Is that too much to ask for??

Write a book.

Yes, I could do it, provided you find someone else to cook, clean, do the laundry, make sure I pay my bills on time, rub Tiger Balm on my neck every night when I get home from work, run away with me when the stress gets too much and all I want to do is curl into a ball and cry, etc, etc, and so forth.

And somehow, I'm pretty sure I can irrationally blame the unwed male of my acquaintance mentioned in the post "If the Shoe Slips." He went and mentioned me to said ecclesiastical leader, so therefore ALL his fault.

  1. I'd read said book, if you wrote it. Just saying... And if I were nearby, I'd cook, clean, etc. so you could write it!
