That is what time I have gotten up every morning since I started my job at the hospital. I am whipped by that and the fact I walk 12-20 miles every single day just in performing my duties. Oh my holy heck, Batman. My legs haven't hurt like this since I was dancing in high school. The tendons on the outside of my thighs and especially my knees lock up when I get home from work and forget to stretch. They just contract and don't want me to straighten my legs. There may have been some tiny whimpers heard coming from my general direction as I hobble to bed....at 6:30PM!! I look, feel, and act like an old woman.
On the upside, this past Saturday I passed my CNA state licensing exam with flying colors. Go ME!!! And I got to spend the day with my sister-friend and her two beautiful girls who are my only nieces since my real brothers can only give me nephews. We had so much fun attending a dance recital, going to church, and eating fabulous food Sunday before I headed home to go to sleep while the sun was still in the sky. Next week, I get my non-training schedule, which means better hours and (gulp!) they leave me on my own with patients. I'm not feeling a tiny bit of anxiety over that at all.
Hopefully, I will have regular internet access sometime in the next few weeks and can start updating more often. (Whoever is in Salt Lake City and checking on here every day, patience and persistence are virtues. ;-D)
Congratulations on passing your exam!
ReplyDeleteAnd walking that much is so good for you. One stretch I super love that gets the IT band is laying down on my back on the floor and then setting my feet wide apart. Then I cross one leg over the other (without moving it closer to the middle) and let the stretch pull apart the tiny cramped tendon and fascia fibers. Love that one. And I repeat on the other side after holding the position about 30-45 seconds.
And yeah, this hit on your blog is coming from São Paulo, Brazil because that's where I live right now.
