President Dieter Uchtdorf's talk about regret & resolutions was one of the few I had the opportunity to hear last weekend. Today, before Sacrament Meeting started in a ward I'm not sure I live in, I was handed the bulletin. This quote was on the back:
"It's easy to cast stones, hold grudges, and deride others; it takes more effort to forgive, to commend, and to love. But the dividends are well worth the effort."
-Music and the Spoken Word, (By The Side of The Road)
I think it might be easier to look back on our lives in the future & not regret the times we have been kind, the time we spent with those we love & whom love us, and the effort we put in to maintain our most important relationships. But that effort will always be worth it--even if we never see the dividends immediately.
