I hate being sick. Absolutely loathe it. I don't like that some alien pathogen has invaded my body causing my normal body temperature to go up to an uncomfortable level. I don't like flop sweats, fever chills, stomach acid burns on my lips, achy hairs on my head, joints that feel like they will never go back to normal, etc. I also hate missing work. I am not a workaholic but I love having routine in my life.
I also am a little disgusted with the fact that I watched almost 2 entire seasons of Grey's Anatomy on Netflix. That is how long I was in bed and mildly delirious. Last night I thought I was better. Hadn't had a fever for 5 hours. Only 19 more to go to be non-contagious.
And then I woke up this morning.
Stupid pathogen. Stupid fever which I know is actually a good thing because it's killing the pathogen. But still.
I blame my job for this illness. Patients cough in your face with no warning. They grab your ungloved hand before you're ready to help them. They sneeze near you. Nurses don't bother to tell you when there's an isolation precaution.
And to make it all even better, I still don't have any benefits at work which means I don't have health insurance. I'm too poor to afford it on my own and too employed to qualify for assistance of any kind. I'm sick of it! I don't agree with obamacare and I don't agree with attendance policies for adult jobs. An unscheduled absence occurs because if I could schedule the flu or a virus I would totally ask for time off IN ADVANCE!!!!
UGH!!!!!!!
I just need to get through the next 3 weeks and then I won't have to worry about my work schedule because my 999 hours of allowed work for the year will be exhausted. And I get to have a vacation. YAY!! Which means I will be job-hunting again. yay!
(mild rant over)
I hear you with those coughing patients...
