Shining the Whole Sink

I shined the whole sink. What a difference! I've kept it shiny and clean for over a week! I haven't cleaned anything else but dirty clothes but I've consistently and successfully kept my kitchen counters and dishes clean for over a week. Who knew?

I have today off and am going to ambitiously fold the clean clothes, put them away, and take out the trash. If it weren't raining I would wash my sheets and couch slipcover. But, it is raining and therefore aforementioned items would not dry in sufficient time to put them back on their respective pieces of furniture in time to sleep. I have boycotted dryers since they raised the price last week. As soon as I find a decent used washer I shall boycott the on-site laundry facilities all-together.

I'm seriously amazed by the change in my attitude about cleaning simply by deep cleaning my kitchen sink. I do still need to clean the bathroom and all floor surfaces but this is a process over time. One productive habit at a time is all I can handle. I do plan on  attempting a new recipe for Midweek Moussaka, aka Eggplant Parmesan Casserole. The recipe is in my cookbook "The Gluten-Free Bible" and looks so yummy.

On a musical tangent, I'm going to see/hear the violinist Joshua Bell perform with the Houston Symphony. My soul shall be fed and uplifted. Our choir director also introduced a new piece of Christmas music on Tuesday. It is an arrangement of "The First Noel" that I'm a bit in love with and would love to sing in a church choir as well.

Enjoy!

  1. Cool! I'm so glad you have found some motivation for life again! And I was also quite surprised about how I felt about cleaning things up once my kitchen sink was done. I no longer get angry about it, but sometimes I still murmur to myself.
On account of my dryer being dead, I've been hang drying all my laundry too. And I turn on the ceiling fans to help circulate the air. Towels and jeans are the worst!
I wish you happy fat luck with all your new endeavors! :)

  3. I shined my sink too, per your suggestion. It looks nice! The rest of my house? Not so much.

    1. It took about a week after the shining of the sink before I wanted to clean the rest of the house. Now, it's pretty much clean and clutter-free. But, I don't have kids and a husband messing up the clean either.
