Giving Thanks

Summer 2010, I began a list entitled "Things I Know" to focus on the positive and uplifting things in my life. It has helped me to remember what I am grateful for and the blessings I would like to have in my life. I found out I can't digest gluten recently and had an interesting Thanksgiving meal today. I spent most of the day cooking meals to freeze so I'm not tempted to run through the drive-thru and eat something that my body thinks is a virus instead of nutrition.

I'm extremely grateful to have a place to sleep, a roof over my head, a job I find rewarding, and friends & family who love me unconditionally. I'm also grateful for personal traditions I am establishing in my life. I watch "White Christmas" on Thanksgiving to start the Christmas season, along with "The Family Stone" and "Elizabethtown." Hope you had a fabulous day of remembering the things for which you are thankful. And remember.....

"If you're worried and you can't sleep, just count your blessings instead of sheep. And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings."
