Thought Processes

We discussed the book of Ruth today in my lunchtime Institute class. So many thoughts! But then I had to grab my notebook and run to Anatomy lecture which caused all thoughts to be smothered by inorganic compounds and all things water related.

I have also decided that my brain clutter has left it's safe, contained area inside my skull and spread to my apartment. I used to have organized piles of things but they have begun to intermingle and contaminate themselves. I may need a personal intervention. It will probably go something like this--

"Self, we have got to get our act together. We cannot study or feel safe in our refuge of a home because we cannot see the kitchen counters, sink, or most of the carpet in the living room. Self, the kitchen table and coffee table are covered in books and quilting fabric. We must have a place to put our plate of food while we watch a DVD."

"I agree, Self, and Friday after work we shall turn off the phone, turn up the stereo and blitz the house. I believe some furniture re-arranging is in order."

"Great idea! I heartily concur!"

*This is what happens when you live alone.

On a saner note....

I attended a Relief Society meeting this past Saturday where we talked about the history of the Houston Temple. I decided that I need to make my little habitation more temple-like so that I can have the peace, calm, and comfort I feel in the temple in my home everyday. I need it to be my personal refuge from the chaos out there. (And I realized that I do know what I like in life; I had seriously thought I had forgotten what I like and it was causing unnecessary issues.) Talk about answers to questions you hadn't realized you were asking. Sometimes I have issues verbalizing my needs when I talk with Heavenly Father. So glad He interrupts, er, interprets Emily-speak.

  1. We had ward conference yesterday, and one of the talks given was about how our homes are the only place on earth that can compare to the temple in holiness and we need to keep treat them that way - keep them organized and clean.

I have a lot of work to do... But I am determined to make my home a temple!!
