A Request for Prayers

A fellow blogger and friend, Erin, found out that a sore on her husband's leg was, in reality, necrotizing fasciitis and not just a boil.  He has had 2 surgeries so far to remove the diseased tissue and has been in the hospital since July 29. There is a 50% mortality rate because if any diseased tissue is left AT ALL after each surgery, the infection continues to spread and spread. Their little girl just celebrated her first birthday.

They have no health insurance because, like most Americans going to school to better their lives, they can't afford it right now. Emergency Medicaid has been a joke trying to enroll in and they are going to get slammed with medical bills when he is discharged and sent home. To top all this off, today, as Erin was driving home, a rock that was more like a mini-boulder fell off a truck in front of her and put a hole through the windshield of the car. She wasn't hurt but is wondering at this point, "What else ya got? You couldn't drop a bag of money meant for incineration off the back of an armored truck instead?"

Their little family needs your prayers. And if you know of anything they can do to receive assistance in the wonderful state of Texas, she would appreciate the info in her comments on her blog, Things I've Learned Talking to Myself. Miracles happen, especially when a group of people with faith sufficient to produce them get together. Thanks bunches!

Sincerely,
Emily
