I can't adequately express how much I love Terry Pratchett's books. They are so fabulous that they transcend age. Read it as an adult and then read them to your children. Many people give out Dr. Seuss' "The Places You'll Go" as graduation gifts. That's fine and dandy. But give someone a Pratchett book and suddenly you realize all the things you don't know. They make you laugh so hard you cry and then, sneakily, make you think thoughts you had not previously had. This article by Brandon Sanderson sums up what I'm trying to say beautifully.
Go to the library and check out "Unseen Academicals" or "Night Watch" or "Pyramids" or, and one of my personal favorites, "Witches Abroad." You won't regret it. And you'll get an endorphin boost just like if you had exercised. (Not that reading should replace physical activity but you get my point.)
