In a 36 hour time period, I read all three books in Veronica Roth's "Divergent" trilogy. I finished "Allegiant" at exactly 1300 hours. I enjoyed reading them; they're quite compelling. But...I have a weird taste in my brain. I'm not sure how I feel or what I think of them.
I often feel this way after reading anything written in the first-person style of narrative. It's like I'm missing something important that's staring me in the face but I'm too overwhelmed to focus on what it is.
Maybe I just need to talk the books out with someone else who has read them.
Have you read them? What was your opinion? Any thoughts you'd care to share?
I've read them. They just ended up being ok for me. I started out loving the third but didn't really like the way it ended. The first book kind of annoyed me, and the second one wasn't as compelling as either of the other two.
